Definitely one of the things I enjoy about my current congregation, the regular celebrating of the Eucharist. I've also been reminded lately of the economic aspects of the Eucharist, inviting all to the table, regardless of what, if anything, they bring to it. :)

Rev. Vaughn W. Thurston-Cox

Eucharist became an essential part of my spiritual life at Asbury. It wasn't uncommon to share the bread and wine (That famous Welch's version) two or three times a week.

I has deepened my faith and led me to greater love and holiness of heart and life. It continues to teach me about Christ with us, and how I become his presence in the world.

Oddly enough I was raked over the coals in one particular conference meeting for my sacramental understanding of Baptism and Communion. It was attacked as "United Methodist" or "liberal" rather than Wesleyan, which it is. Many of our people are starved of this because their pastors do not share; but they are also starved because so many in our leadership do not see a place for the sacraments in the life of the Church.

Matthew,

I appreciate your focus on the importance of the sacrament of communion. I attended a FM church in college that practiced weekly communion and it was a time of rich worship for me. The issue of more frequent communion has been a recurring issue in the past few years and I think it can only deepen our experience of worship and our understanding of the faith. Preach it!
